How Our Online Chinese Classes Work
From your first consultation to your child's first conversational milestone, we match your family with the perfect native Cantonese or Mandarin tutor.
Your Child's Learning Journey
Our simple 4-step onboarding process to ensure a successful start.
1. Share Your Child's Language Goals
Reach out to KABE Learning via email, phone, or WhatsApp. Tell us about your child's age, language background (whether they are complete beginners or heritage speakers), and whether you're looking to explore Cantonese or Mandarin.
2. Personalized Tutor Matching
Our educational advisor will host a quick consultation to understand your schedule, your child's interests (such as space, drawing, or animals), and your long-term goals. We use these details to handpick a native-speaking Chinese tutor whose personality and teaching style match your child.
3. Schedule Your Trial Lesson
Book a convenient slot for your child's first 25-minute trial lesson. The tutor will guide your child through play-based games and short stories to evaluate their current speaking, comprehension, and pronunciation level in a fun, zero-pressure setting.
4. Start Custom Bilingual Lessons
After the first lesson, you will receive a detailed progress report. We will recommend a lesson frequency (usually 1–2 classes per week). Your child will continue lessons with the same dedicated Chinese teacher, building familiarity, comfort, and natural speaking confidence.
🖥️ What to Prepare
You don't need expensive gear. Just ensure the following basic setups are ready before the first lesson:
- A Stable Computer or iPad: A laptop, desktop, or tablet equipped with a working front-facing camera.
- Good Internet Connection: A reliable broadband connection suitable for video calling.
- Zoom Classroom: The free Zoom application installed on the device. We will coordinate a private, password-protected link directly with parents.
- A Quiet Space: A distraction-free learning corner where your child can comfortably speak aloud.
- Parent Support (for Age 5-6): We recommend a parent sit nearby during the first 1-2 lessons to help with tech adjustment.
⭐ What to Expect in the First Lesson
Our first lessons are designed to build confidence and rapport, not to test. Here is what we do in the 25-minute session:
- Warm-Up (5 min): Friendly greetings, picking an interactive animal avatar, and building rapport.
- Mini-Lesson (15 min): Play-based vocabulary matching, colors, repeating simple phrases with puppets.
- Language Level Evaluation (5 min): Gentle observation of vocabulary, tone matching, and conversational comfort.
- Post-Class Feedback: Within 24 hours, you'll receive a summary of your child's strengths and goals.
How We Match Tutors
We believe that standard matching based on schedule alone isn't enough for young kids. We analyze three core dimensions:
Interest Matching
If your child loves dinosaurs, we pair them with teachers who integrate dinosaur-themed vocabulary and games into the lessons.
Accent & Heritage Goals
Whether you want a standard Beijing Mandarin accent, traditional characters, or heritage colloquial Hong Kong Cantonese, we target the precise profile.
Personality Alignment
Shy children are matched with quiet, encouraging, and patient teachers. Active kids are matched with high-energy, performative teachers.
